Hello people, Which practice do you think is BEST for upgrading to a whole new website but on the same domain (new design, new structure, partially the same text, same domain): 1. Make a 3-way redirect with the old and new content ? 2. Just implement the new website and be sure to redirect all the old pages with 301 - permanent redirect pointing to the correspondent new page ? I would go with the SECOND, but what do you think ? Thanks, KriSs
I think the second one would be better, because from my knowledge google doesn't like the 3 way redirect.
if it is the same domain, same text but a new design, then i dont see any reason for a 301 redirect. if you are adding new content, you can do that on the existing page. if you want to add new pages, there is no redirection needed either as they are new pages.
So, you're going to change entire URL structure except domain name? In that case it is better to put a permanent redirection from old URL to new one. Good luck!!
Hei @sultanofseo , the thing is that i change the structure also, every page will have a new URL in the new website so... Anyone has any better ideea or we just figure it out that 301 Redirect is best for changing a website (structure and design) on the same domain ? Thanks.
