I'd like to get some input on this take and see what other members here think is the best way to handle it..

So, I have a domain focused on one particular niche (for example, blackjack.com)..It's got a nice blog on it with lots of content related to blackjack, but now I've decided I want to add even more about other forms of gambling..Slots, Roulette, Poker..etc. I'm now wanting to start a new domain and move all the content from the current blackjack domain, then add additional content for the other niches.

Which of the following to do you think is best from Google's standpoint..
    1) Keep things separate. Add the content for new niches on the new domain and leave the blackjack content on the blackjack domain.
    2) Move all content over, and permanent redirect the blackjack domain to the new domain.
    3) Something else I'm not aware of (please describe)

Here is an article that we used as a reference to move a customer's domain,http://www.hobo-web.co.uk/how-to-change-domain-names-keep-your-rankings-in-google/. Worked great for us.

Hope it helps and good luck.

move it and then do 301 permanent redirect
Or you can have subdomain for other niches

If you are not technically advanced you can use tools to generate base redirects, like

    http://www.webconfs.com/htaccess-redirect-generator.php
    http://www.rapidtables.com/web/tools/redirect-generator.htm
Just put your data and get the code to setup redirects between domain names or folders.

Once you change 301 redirection logic, you must check operability of your website.
You can do this manually or with tools, like
    http://www.internetmarketingninjas.com/header-checker/

If you are determined to use another domain name, that is probably your best option. However, if you have a good domain name that already gets good traffic, you might be better off adding other categories to the existing site even if the domain name refers something else.

Fact is that while a domain name is important, it is secondary to the content on the site. And while Google says you can 301 permanent redirect to transfer PR, Google still said in the past that there is some risk of losing ranking. So take that into consideration.
