Hello. After some time I'm looking to selling some domains via a forum (mainly this one when my permissions are active), but looking for advice on how to do this. The domains are with Namecheap and I look to sell using PayPal as the payment. Thanks, Tb
That help's, but then at the same time people never want to pay much for domains, plus the problem is I'm in UK so it'd be in GBP
thats why start an auction start with $1 and see where it goes... You can use GBP - no problem.. paypal allows GBP..
- Build a reputation - List all details possible in your auction - Start low - more eyeballs - Try and protect both you and the buyer in the transaction
For starters, it's false reasoning to use your own, our currency, UK Sterling. Use US$ instead, this is the currency that most people on the forums are familiar with. If you insist on using GBP, you'll put off potential buyers immediately, who do not know the current currency exchange rate. The pound as you know, although weaker now, is still strong against many other major currencies, so whilst the figures may look low, the bidder is in fact bidding or buying outright, at almost twice the rate that s/he is accustomed to. This can be perceived as a little bit deceiving and conniving, not that I'm saying that you are so, but this is the way it could be perceived and may well put off potential buyers. The buying audience are a fickle bunch and you need to be doing absolutely everything within your power to make their buying experience of your domains as easy as possible. Most potential buyers no offense, myself included, scanning through domains, have the attention span of a gnat, unless something really grabs our interest.
Also, when you are selling your domain, ensure you have information of what sites are linking in to you, whats your traffics like, how much money you are making every month, and anything in detailed would be good. Sell them at auction sites. Or a domain specially that sells domain. Try it out here: http://www.sedo.com/main.php3?language=us Good luck.
thanks. It seems that selling price at forum would be much lower than those special domain trading site like SEDO. SEDO requires selling price of at least $60, but sellers seems able to get buyers who willing to spend hundreds or thousands for a domain name, but that situation not seen in forum sale.
These kind of forums will attract wholesale prices only generally speaking and not your emotionally attached domain buyer / end user.
Place offers in the correct places on the forums and you will definitely get your buyers. Forums well indexed and using google people who are interested will reach your offer.
just create a simple web. put your all domain list there. and start auction and put in many forums about that auction. if u r professionaly doing domain reselling then this is the best way. also put many tools like domain finder, expire domain name list etc. etc.... hope u like my suggestion. thanks.
Always post a BIN!!!! Many people including myself do not have the time to mess around with auctions.. if you post a BIN you will most likely sell many of the name much faster. Also, do not use those online free appraisal systems.. that stuff is just ridiculous, it causes n00bs to post domains like: Myreallyreallyreallysuperdoopercooldomainname .com with no PR, no incoming links, no Alexa rating, and no real value whatsoever (less than the reg fee) for $12,000 LOL One other thing that irritates me is a lengthy sales pitch telling all of the uses that the domain name can be used for, and posting examples of other sites that are barely similar and how much those sold for, along with how many results in Google there are result for keywords from the domain.. Reminds me of a shifty car salesman.. LOL
Well, I agree with that statement in the most part however my largest sale was in GBP from a B.I.N value. So you could make money in GBP but I agree that USD is probably easier (even if you charge a little more to deal with the exchange rate)
