Hi everone, I have recently purchased http://www.songandmusiclyrics.com It is undergoing a redesign at the moment to look a lot funkier, brighter, more user friendly and a lot more up to date. What you see at the moment is a site neglected by the previous owner but in 2 weeks time it will look alot better. I will be also spending 2-3 hours a day on the site updating new lyrics etc. The two sponsor adds at the bottom of the page (if they are still there when you view the website) will be deleted in the next few hours. I am receiving 2000-3000 hits a day at the moment in its current state, so in excess of 1,000,000 hits a year is not an unreasonable expectation once the site has been redesigned. Based on the information above, how much would you charge for 3/6 months banner spot / link spot? $49 for a 200 x 60 logo/mini banner for 3 months ? $19 for a text link spot for 3 months ? Thanks

Hi thefanta, Here are some thoughts about this site: You have 5 text links at the bottom of the subpages under the heading "Related Sites". I would offer those for $50/month. Chances are you will get people offering you $25-30, and I'd suggest accepting it for the time being until you have worked on the site for a while. You could even put these up in TLA, they will sell them for $50 each and you will make $25, but the good side is they can usaully sell the links quickly. As for advertising, I would recommend doing a CPM deal. Start by going with an advertising network to see how the revenue goes. If you really are getting 2-3k/day, you can probably make about $5/day on CPM advertising with a network. Once you've had time to touch the site and put some work into it, then you could probably offer more. In general, song lyric websites don't make a huge amount of money, but you can probably clear a few hundred $/month.
Hi discreet Yes I do get 2k-3k page hits a day. It used to be alot more but the previous owner didnt keep it up to date. I work nights so I have about 6 hours spare in the afternoon, 2-3 hours a day I dont mind giving to this website. The site will look fantastic when I have finished redesigning (with help) Whats TLA - sorry to sound a bit thick? I like all your suggestions, very much appreciated.
TLA = www.text-link-ads.com They sell text links like AdBrite and other networks do, but they have a larger customer base and I have had a fair amount of success with them, so I recommend them above all other text link brokers.
