I have an open source FLV player on my site for free download, http://www.trenttompkins.com/Downloads/Open-Source-FLV-Player-2-RC1.html I didn't want to put ads on my personal site, because that looks shitty, but the page gets a ton of targeted traffic, so I was thinking about selling the demo video ad space. Basically the only people I can see really wanting it are people who sell web scripts, they could make a 3-4 minute screen capture video, add in audio, and showcase their script. Figure with some scripts selling for $500, the ad would have to bring one sale every couple months to be worth buying - which seems doable if I'm getting 10k unique's to it, and there all web-masters and programmers. The thing is, I don't know where to find anyone who would want it. I thought about posting an announcement on the site, and running a silent auction for it, but I'm not sure if that would get anyone or not. I even thought about making my own script to sell, but I don't know what people want, and it takes a long time to write a good script. If I had a video camera and a place to record I could film a video, with my pitch being, "This could be your video". Any idea? I'm trying to sell it fast since I just released version 2 and I want to know there is going to be traffic to it.
