Best way to recover from the JAGGER update?

    Hi,

My site was very high in the SERPS for over 12 months but now has fallen out of site after JAGGER.

I run co-op (semi-perm) ads on the site in question and have another site which runs LV links that I point to my main site as well...

I also had around 300 recopicral links that I have now trimmed to around 100 to keep only the "themed sites".

What is the best way to recover from this? Here are some the options as I see it:

    a) Remove the co-op links off the main site (or make them perm links?)
    b) Don't point the LV vaultage to the main site.
    c) Remove all recoprical links.
    d) ...help?

Any help would be appreciated. :)

    Thanks

You sound like you are on the right track, as long as you not seen as trying to manipulate the search results you should be fine.

Will I need too "re-submit" or will G* re-evaluate after each crawl?

    Happy Thanksgiving Amaze ,

From what I gather having read many of the threads on the "Jag", it does'nt seem like the G upda results have much to do with any kinda links at all. If you were ranked on Google previously you're in the program. Just create as much whitehat SEO as you know and keep content bright and you'll see results in your SERPs accordingly... Keep the faith my friend...

To be honest, most of the blackhat sites I know of came thru it without a scrape, while a lot of whitehats are screaming Foul as usual.

i was too crashed by jagger - best thing is to wait for about 2 months without doing anything specific, things could become normal for you and for me. :)

I had many top ten placings in g-, M and Y, along came Jag and now my highest ranking in g- is 160.

With Christmas comming this was just bad timing. My site is also all white hat and I am worried g- is confussing my site which is a .net.nz domain with a competitor's .nz site.

Anybody know of a way to confirm this?

    much appreciated,

    s.

I think it is highly unlikely that google is confusing you with another domain. If you have an affiliate site, you could have problems, but not because of the domain name. A lot of sites lost rankings with jagger without doing anything. Google likes backlinks from relevant sites. Take whatever keyword you are trying to rank for and compare it to the sites that are ranking in the top five or ten. How many backlinks do they have (not internal links) compared to your site? Many times that is the problem.

    Hmmmm,

Cheers, but if I g- for "sheepskinboots", not a search term, but a term I was number 1 for, I'm now on page 3. the top sites for "sheepskinboots" are complete crap, pr of 0 and next to no back links. It is this that has led me to believe that I am held back by a filter of some kind.
