Best way to promote this site?

    They would like to increase the number of visitors to the site and improve their search ranking.

    What methods would you most recommend?

    Connect with "hip hoppers" in your area and do some interviews. Record the interviews and post them on youtube. Then post a written interview on your site.

    You could sponsor a popular hip hopper - give then clothing and accessories, and in return, they only mention your site when talking about clothing. In other words, earn "brand name" loyalty by sponsoring someone with free clothing and other stuff.

    Just picture a NASCAR driver who is sponsored by Ford. They only recommend ford products because Ford helps pay their bills, or Ford gives them a new car, or a new motor, or new tires,,,.

    Get the picture?

    It's my client's site. I did a lot of development on it so far but their traffic has dropped since I stopped working for them a few months ago. Now they have asked me back and want it improving. Any more ideas? There could be jobs in this for you as I'm extremely busy at the moment.

    I would say it def needs some video. Set up a matching YTchannel and post video testimonials and videos of products.

    That's a good idea but the company only has an online site and not a shop now so not sure where the testimonials would come from?

    Any more ideas please?

    You can consider putting up a blog on it and update it on weekly basis.

    And I don't understand why some of the website category has nice url structure while some of them are using the default structure. Maybe you need to look at that too.

    Sounds about right. Have some social network presence and speak to facebook groups in the hiphop scene.

    Mean that you actually know the method but just lack of time on it. Then, just use PPC advertising such as adwords, this is the fastest way without spend much time

    We tried radio advertising before and it was OK but we don't have a shop now it's online only.

    Do social bookmarking for your site.These will drive more traffic to your site.And also do the other off-page optimization services.
