Best Way to Promote an Affiliate Program?

Hi there,

I'm looking to promote an affiliate program for a pet-related product.

Could anyone recommend the best ways they have found to promote their program and get people to join?

The main things I've done so far are emailing webmasters with complimentary websites and posting on affiliate program directory sites...

The best way is to try them yourself and then blog your experience about it.

 

You can try Seo technique depend on these options:-

* article submission in relevant section
* forum posting (through signature) in pet forums and family forums
* web directory submission in relevant category
* Create a blog and advertise on it
* participating in community sites like Yahoo Answers, multipy, facebook, myspace and make friends of similar interest.
* online group posting
* promotional ads
* link exchange of relevant sites
* Social bookmarking your sites and articles can bring good traffic and caching.

It is better to get targeted traffic on affiliate programs.
I suggest use PPC advertising, SEO and related forum posting (signature)

I am working on most of the techniques and trust me i am getting great results and good traffic to my affiliate program

 

Try affiliate forums, work with an affiliate network, submit to affiliate directories, find affiliate announcement services, press releases, blogs, etc.

 

Have you tried ppc on google?

You're doing it man, and at least you're asking. Many companies think setting up a program means affiliates will flock to it, join, produce and they are done. I would definitely recommend PPC, but you should also try some of the affiliate marketing sites out there (5 star comes to mind).

I would just advise you to becareful with PPC. If you havent used it before I would recommend you learn a lot about it and start off slow or you will spend more money than you make

 

Here is a PPC program that offers $50000 in PPC for only $5. It is relatively small right now so there are a lot of unused keywords. With its current size it will not compete with other more popular PPC but remember for only $5 you get $50000 worth of PPC ads.

The bids start at .05 thats 1,000,000 clicks of your ad. If you have a well written ad this will bring in a steady amount of visitors, hopefully resulting in higher conversions.

Like I said before this won't yet rival more popular PPC, so it may take more time for your ads to be clicked but they will eventually be clicked. This is guaranteed clicks over a longer period of time.

Another idea to advertise for free is to visit the traffic forums here on DP there are a lot of free traffic trials posted here.

I found that the phone broadcasting system that is an affilate program with in itself is the best way to promote affilate programs. It is cheaper than PPC or really any other method out there and it really works if you don't mind talking on the phone a lot and learning about phone advertising.
