I would like to know what the best ways to promote affiliate products are. What has really worked for you - inserting links in your content or using the affiliate banners, what placement is best and how you have managed to entice people in signing up for the affiliate products. We could all benefit from the experience we've had and probably avoid doing things which dont really work As for me, i've started using text links in my content as i believe it looks more natural - just doing a mixture of adsense and affiliate products at the moment.
I have tried adsense but got my account terminated after a year for really nothing. Now I am only doing and focusing on adult affiliate marketing, probably the most easiest thing to do. I think that if you provide the right offer to the right people (traffic) the way of actually marketing it isn't that important anymore. You will make sales.
The absolute best way to promote affiliate products is to start building your own mailing list and promote the products to your list. The bigger your list become the better your income will be, it will reach a point when you will start thinking of getting better responsive and conversion rates from your list.
I think building review sites of the products you are promoting is a good why to do affiliate marketing.
Add relevant content to your site which will get traffic from the Serach Engines. Promote the affiliate products on your site along with the content. For me, products have worked better than affiliate banners.
Do any of you have examples where i can see how you introduce the affiliate products to your users in your content?
I would say that that is the best way to do affiliate marketing. Matter of fact, that's how the big guys do it. I do it. I'm sure that some of the big guys still does PPC-SEO stuff but maybe just to collect new names and emails. Then they use their main power which is email marketing. That's when the big bucks comes in. So whatever you do, don't matter what it is, COLLECT'EM Names... It's the most important part in marketing. Yang
I do a mix of what was listed above. I have my own mailing list to promote my affiliate products. I also have a review site built, and a blog that is regularly updated with my own unique articles to help my visitors out. As far as actively promoting, I prefer article marketing, as this is my main form of advertising period.
I offer a pretty decent payout with my affiliate program on my site and I also have little contest to produce some competition between my affiliates.
And what about the site itself? I built a site for Adsense and then tried to make affiliate sales with not so good results
Combining all is the best IMO and agree with GSellar you get to a point where you start optimize, to get the most from your market. You have to reach that point where the number of visitors for a sale become smaller and smaller everyday. And you know what really rules? Copyrighting. Copyrighting is one of the most string features you may have. Did you know those sites with only one page that just convince you to sale? Well, those guys are great. They convince you with one crappy page full of GET IT NOW call to action. There are such people, really, people that know how to sell things. For ex, I sell TemplateMonster templates with a 10% discount which is a great thing, since you offer the same thing as other people, offering a discount puts you on the top of the list, sometimes it may be the only way to do it. So, even if I sell those templates with a 10% discount I get a sale out of almost 500 visitors, while they say you should have 1 out of 60 visitors. Well, I wonder how. Maybe the power to convince people, writing good text. That's copyrighting.
It is important to create more than 1 website because afetr that you can create backlinks between them and you will see big positive differences. The best way to promote your business is SEO but if you are lazy and you want quick money than a PPC campaign well designed can be also effective.
Thank you for your suggestions I guess it's all about one's convincing power to persuade visitors to buy.
Would somebody be kind enough to show me an example of a website (maybe a review website) which promotes affiliate products. I just want to see how the affiliate link is integrated in the webpage - whether it is within the content or at the bottom of the page in bigger font. I've looked at a few sites but cant tell where the affiliate links are (if they do have them that is).
just type a search in google for any niche you want. click on the adwords ads. chances are you'll get to an affiliate website promoting offers. try "stretch mark remover" or "bust enlarger"
