While the SERPs for my page are generally pretty poor, I own the first page on google for an interesting keyword that appears in a lot of my promo. The problem is, not many people know about this word, so it doesn't get a lot of searches. So I had an idea-what if I could get that word in front of a lot of eyes, along with a suggestion that they Google it? They would see my site for five or six pages. The first idea was to mention the word on a popular radio call-in show, and I'll be trying that Friday night. Another idea I had was submitting it to Visual Thesaurus as "word of the day." And the third idea was to ask you for your suggestions. How can I promote the word instead of the site, to get thousands of visitors to look it up? Specific websites and blogs appreciated...and creative ideas. Green rep for all quality suggestions.
Word of the day idea looks good. You can also submit your website to social bookmark sites with the word(s) as tag(s). It might be a niche word, but the tags where the site will be submitted will be closely related to your website theme so it will attract interested users to it.
