Best way to prevent direct webmail traffic to eBay links

Ebay doesnt allow ebay rover links to be in emails. Since I dont want to get booted from the system, I want to be able to prevent someone else from mass emailing my links. I know if someone clicks on a link from an email in outlook express or outlook, the will not be any referrer. However, if someone clicks on a link in aol or webmail, you will get banned by CJ. Is there a way to stop a direct link from webmail? Right now I have index pages that redirect through another folder. For some sites I do meta redirect and others I do .htaccess redirects. Can I just have a check to see if the referral address has *mail* in it somewhere?

Why would somebody else mass-email your links out? That doesn't really make sense...

yes, you could technically check for the referrer since you're redirecting. but then again, if someone wanted to, they could just find the real url you're redirecting to and use that in the emails so you'd have no control over it.

I just want to cover myself in case someone wants to get me banned. Ive heard of it happening to other before. So, just let me know of a way to check to see if *mail* is some where in the referral address.

If you do a redirect, the original site shows up as the referrer.

Just don't worry about it, people aren't trying to ruin you by spamming your links. In the time that it would take them to spam your links & hope that somebody reports you, they could've spent that much time to make $100 on their own.
