I want to offer phone support on my hosting site. My requirements are that the number is a US phone number and that the line is always open and that i can let customers leave a voicemail if i don't answer. I want to have the voicemail say something like "we are sorry but there is no one available at (hosting company) at the moment, please leave a message or call back later"

I am looking for a pretty cheap way. how does the prepaid phones work, do i pay for incoming calls to??

I don't know where you live. But in the state of Pa. the big phone company is verizon. I pay a flat rate and get unlimited in coming and out going calls within the US and have voice mail included for about 49.00 a month

You can take a look at Skype, they offer phone numbers that would redirect to your local number, as well as voicemail through Skype, if properly set up.
