Best way to Monetize general traffic?

Hello,

I have a new project that I believe will drive a good amount of traffic through viral marketing. The traffic will be very general and not targeted, what is the best way to monetize this? Can you get good returns with adsense with such general traffice? Are there better ways to monetize this? What would be a reasonable cpm or eCPM to expect?

The site will be based on a single flash game.

I appreciate any info or advice.

 

maybe auctionads.com? not really sure but you could show ads for some super popular items and I think there is no limit on how many ads you can use.

 

I would probably use adsense for a flash game site. Try it out and see how it works!

 

I would have to recommend Google Adsense if it is just general traffic.

Google adsense. It always works with general traffic.

 

Dont rate adsense... it is ok for untargetted webpages which you have little to no control over (eg non-specific topic forums) but as soon as your content is targeted in any way and under at least partial control then affiliate schemes will generally pay out much better rates even if the visitors arent from any particular segment they presumably have some form of interest in the content.

Any hints on how to identify a common theme to target for affiliate marketing with general traffic? That is where I'm stumped.
