Hi, im goin to get up a site sellin royalty free rap / rnb/ ethnic beats, all original, no samples, i own the copyrights. As of right now i dont have a mp3 store to sell single beats, so Im just selling them as whole cds / packages (20-30 per cd) ranging from 70-100 dollars. What do you think would be the best way to market a site like this? Should I set up my own affiliate program or use clickbank? Other methods? thanks
I think you should set up your own store selling the CDs at first. You can put up sample beats for each beat on the CD. You could do PPC or just SEO your way to the top. You could offer some beats for free. Some people will link to your site just because you offer some free products. Actually, I have a friend of mine that might be interested in buying some beats if they are good.
ok, thanks for the advice. I should have the site up by sunday night. I grew against ppc because of all the possible fraud and being the type to like to go for almost 100% profit. But since this product will be so expensive i might just use ppc for it...
Personally, I'm like you. I don't do PPC. I'm a penny pincher. I don't like the idea of paying people just to look at my site. SEO wurkt fur mi. (I was just typing and had a flash back to the Hooked on Phonics commercial.)
Myspace! Dude, i HATE myspace with a passion, but have you seen all the amatuer musicians on there? Especially rappers and hip hop artists. Get yourself on there selling your beats if they are any good. Thats an obvious one for you
Youtube is another GREAT avenue to gain leads should listeners love your samples. The money is in the leads!
