Best way to market an online virtual pet site?

Hello everyone,
I run an online virtual pet site, which is Rescreatu and I was wondering what's the best way I could market my online virtual pet site.

If you don't know what an online virtual pet site, it is an online game where you register, and create your own virtual pet, you then have to take care of it, and make sure it doesn't die. Which means, you have to feed it, play with and more.

 

Get reviewed on blogs about pets(People who love real pets will love virtual pets too.) You can try pets forums and also games forums.

 

Post on pet related forums, have that link in your sig. Nice site you have there btw

 

So, should I try to post on as many pets forum as possible - and ask their members what they think about my virtual pet site - where allowed?

 

Yep, also get listed in virtual pet directories and join similar social community like kiropets.

 

Take neopets and clubpenguin for an example and see what they've done, may take some research.

 

Kiropets is another virtual pet site, its not a social community.

Thanks for the tip, but Neopets is really on the decline. They've gone commerical, and don't care about their users anymore.

Thank you, it's been opened for about 7 months now. I'm just trying to see what else we can do to help it grow, and potentially to become one of the leading virtual pet sites.

 

Yes, just post away, have you sig link. I find by posting in related forums regularly with my niche I get 50 uniques per day added onto my organic and links traffic.

 

Do you know what the best type of pets forums would be to post on?

 

I would google search something like - vbulletin + pet and other variants. makesure you mostly post on vbulletin forums as you can have sig links. Make sure you find the busy ones....
