I have a free travel niche directory and I was wondering if anyone has some good tips on how to promote it. So far, I am trying to build up content by getting guest posts from blogger link up and trying to find niche directory sites to submit it to. Cheers, Sean
What are the directories? Without seeing them it's hard to suggest anything. If they are new and developing you'll need to utilize all social media sites, classifieds, guess posting and more. If they are large and growing, you should try paid advertising (AdWords, AdCenter).
Have you tried checking out directory sites too? Like directorycritic? You can submit it in your fellow directories as well as forums and blogs.
What's the niche? Once you are clear on that, look for the places people in it hang out. Do Google searches. Look at the related keyterms and then search that way as well. Once you find where the niche exists, you will know where to market it and using what terms.
