Affiliate Adsense Program? By this I'm assuming you are talking about referring people to Adsense and get the $100 when they make their first $100. If this is what you mean then I wouldn't recommend it - you'd be much better served going the old fashioned way with normal ad placements. I highly doubt that the vast majority of your site's visitors are website owners, and I'd doubt even more that those that are website owners visiting your site has failed to have heard of Google Adsense if they have been in the industry for any length of time.

I have not gotten any AdSense referrals yet... definitely more profitable to place AdSense in your websites.

Yes. AdSense referals is just as dead as Firefox installation. You'll never make money with those two.

The absolute best way to make money with adsense? Not from money earned from the ads themselves. ;)

I see people here concentrating solely on revenue earned from clicks, but you can use adsense to make money in other ways.

Put adsense on a web site and you monitise it, right? That means that if you do your acounting right (and I do mean right and not cheating) you thus make everything that goes into the making of that web site a complete tax write off. Take my site oldlondonmaps.com. My passion is maps of old london - so I turn that passion into a money-making enterprise (using adsense on an old london maps site). This means I get the purchase price of these maps back from tax (I am talking Australian business tax law here, not sure how this applies elsewhere). The site makes me money via adsense ads. But at the same time these maps are also accumulating in value big time (maps are one of the best investment choices you can make). So these maps, which have come to me effectively free as the use of adsense allows me to claim their purchase price back, are becoming more valuable as each day passes. Eventually I will sell them for a massive profit and fund my retirement from them. Passive income at its best. :)

None of which I'd be able to do without adsense. ;) The revenue I get from people clicking on goodle ads is about 0.1% of what I will finally make from these maps ...which revenue I would not be able to do without adsense. ;)

Same for the garden history site - rare books and images purchased effectively for free, earning me money as investments, all allowable by the use of adsense.

No blogs for me. I use a monetised site to enable me to purchase investments for free, which earn me massive returns in increased value by the time I sell them. I pay tax on that sale, but that is fine - worth every penny. (I see people trying to avoid tax here, too, and I wonder why they do it, because it is easier to pay tax owed, do everything above board, and make more money that by trying to cheat the system.)

And I get a bit of $$$ from adsense revenue along the way. LOL

Your obviosly very cluely Sara, and a bit more of a long term thinker, the only reason why more people aren't doing what you are doing is probably because you are "investing" for the future which involves risk, where as there isn't a lot of risk with earning with Google Ads, you just get people to your site, they click the ads and Google pays you.

Another drawback of what you are doing is the need specific and in depth knowledge on your niche which most people wouldn't have - or at least not to the depth you have. But probably the biggest drawback of the whole thing is needing to incorporate or setting up the business side of this. It is a lot of extra work and a bit daunting for many I'd imagine. I personally already run a company (Australian) and am planning on setting up a brand new business for my Adsense earnings to help right off things like link purchases, site designs and pretty much anything else related rather than it come out of the earnings that I get to keep after tax (which are fairly high in Australia in comparision to most Western countries).

Your idea about investing in maps is one that you could probably apply to so many things, whether it be wine, paintings, stamps, coins - anything! But at the end of the day when you come from the Generation X like me you want things NOW not for retirement! :D

Build lots of quality sites with original content and content that is already on the web via News, articles, forums, etc...

Get some links to each of these niche type sites and continue to build more and more sites. You'll start to see lots of traffic and eventually, lots of clicks to your ads.

That's the best way to build an Adsense income. ;)

Hmmmmmmmm Sara, so if I start a parenting site I can claim expenses incurred from my children ;) Maybe I should start a site about beer too!!!

I certainly think what you've done is very smart, and not something I'd have thought of to be honest. Only things I'll be claiming are my regular expenses such as hosting, internet connection etc. Not sure I'd be able to claim for stuff like vet bills. LOL.

I think the best way to make money with adsense is to share revenue with those websites where asense ads come beside your articles, news, videos etc.The content on those sites gets indexed quickly and hence your article will get more traffic therby giving you more adsense earning.
