    Hi guys,

I've completly changed one of my sites designs.

    It's a myspace site,

It has 500 backlinks, and gets about 300 uniques a day.

I'm sure my new SEO design will help with the visitors, but i dont want to lose all my backlinks.

All the content pages are now located differnt from where the backlinks point.

What is the best way to keep the backlinks?

    Cheers.

    Cheers guys,

I do not fully understand these 301 redirects.

If my old page was site.com/sub/page.php?file=2

    and now it is:

    site.com/file2.html

And the old page is going to be removed, how can i put the 301 in the header of the old page when it is gone?

My site has 500 pages indexed, i cannot change the headers on every page?

    Any advice would be great.

    Thanks.

Did all the pages change in the same was as site.com/sub/page.php?file=2 to site.com/file2.html?

You can use .htaccess redirect. You should be able to write a generic rule for all your old pages so you wont have to go around editing all the old ones. I'm not a huge .htaccess expert but il have a look for you.

    Cheers mightyb,

    No, pages have completly changed.

My old site was very manual, with sub folders and pages everywhere,

The new site is database driven, so it would be very hard to have a generic rule to where the pages have gone :(

If i just deleted all the pages, and redirect to homepage, will that lose all my backlinks?

    Cheers.
