If it were me I would approach some already successful blogs / websites that are getting a good amount of traffic, with a decent SERP and PR. Offer to buy, or invest in for a % of the revenue from ads. If you find a good one, you can see your $3000 back in a matter of months from decent Ad revenue. I would recommend technology blogs.

 

You may start a Job related site which is having demand always. You many refer the revenue details of LinkedIn.

But it may need either some technical skills or outsourcing skills.

 

Mobile devices are the future. Invest in a mobile app and you could do very well.

 

I think you should put that $3000 back in the bank before you come back here
and tell us you lost it all in something you probably had no experience in to begin with.

Until you know what you are doing, try using free methods, and put your programming
skills to work, do not be so quick to invest that money....

 

Forex trading is big business. The global annual turnover is counted in trillions, yes that is right, trillions of dollars More and more people, day after day, are eager to learn how to trade online. This creates a business opportunity. Online trading in stocks, futures, options and of course forex is a booming business. The technology and permissions to be able to trade online for ordinary people has only been available for a few years. The growth in people trading has been dramatic.

I you have a time to wait you can go for the new site, if not, you can simply buy a site in your niche which is already online for some time and making money (even very little). With this situation you don't need to start from scratch (as development of good new site still needs money to spend) and you saving at least 3-6 month

Hey I totally agree with Kevin, forex trading has become very popular in recent times as a way of making money on the side using extra funds. In fact, a few people have even been able to turn their Forex trading activities into a regular source of income.

 

If it's long term, gold and silver seem like good investments.
