This is obviously all about opinions and different experiences. What kind of site do you find most successful for just sitting back and collecting ad revenue? A proxy site? A parked site? Just curious. I don't plan on registering a bunch of domains to just sit back and hope they earn money. Up until now, all I've done is a little domain re-selling.
People would rarely say what works for them. They don't want competition. But, I would suggest you to try making quality and authority website. Spam might bring you some income if you are lucky, but in the end you would probably get banned from SE.
of the two I'd say proxy site, parked site offers nothing - it's a menace and you need about a 1000 of those with keyword rich domains and you'd have to have some great domains to reap the rewards or even to make a profit. I and everyone else hates those no-content bs mda (made for adsense) sites, atleast proxy sites have some value and some service - so go for that. It's easy and there seems to be hugggggggggeee demands for it. one thing - just don't expect to become mega rich just by putting up a site. People are so misinformed on these things, very few sites make a profit - if you're not interested in the site (topic) you created, don't expect others to be.
Proxy sites can be good, but the problem is that every day there are new proxy sites and the competition is high.. I recommend you build a quality design and content website, of subjects of which you know, and therefore you can contribute with good content, unique and writed by you, of that form that site will be giving money you by an indetermine time. Yep, you need an authentic site with good content and generate lot of targeted traffic, it’s not such easy to just sitting back and collecting ad revenue.
Find your own niche and use it...no one will give u their secrets, just find a good niche and promote it
