Best Way To Go About A Pre-Launch?

Hi there. I want to organise a big pre-launch for my new product, but can't make up my mind on how to do this.

I am thinking about putting up a short eye catching squeeze page with a count down timer, were people can opt in for a limited discount of 50% when the product is released and also grab the pre release blueprint of the course for free.

Then when my product launches, I want to change this page to the full sales page.

Is this a good idea? My launch will be in the next 2 weeks or so, so I don't have a lot of time. Should I just keep the opt in squeeze page, even after the launch, so that people will only get directed to the full sales page, after they opt in?

An idea of my squeeze page is here: http://freetrafficvolcano.com (Excuse the link, but don't worry, Opt in is not working yet...)

All input on this will be much appreciated, thanks...

The page looks good, IMO. The valuable and powerful words above the opt-in email area seem a bit to crowded and flashy.

A little bit more BRIEF information about the product, how much they can make, what makes your product AMAZING...would help too.

    Just my opinion though.

    Thanks,

Thats not a bad idea I think. VBulletin.com doing the same thing currently, and made huge sales out of that.

Speaking from my own experience - pre-launches work wonders! But that's only if you either have a good reputation among your buyers or the free report you're providing beforehand is fantastic. But in any case - it won't do you any harm.

By the way - I've found that pre-launch tactics work especially well on existing lists, i.e. with people whom you can provide a reason and some exclusiviti - such as "Since you're my existing customer, you can put in your order before all the others AND get a huge discount on top of that!".

If you have any contacts use them.

See if you can get JV's and give them a BIG bonus for announcing your product.

Or another thing you can do is after people opt-in to your lead page is make them become an affiliate automatically, and inside the email you send them confirming their email will also be their affiliate link, and make it so all the person has to do is sell 1 copy of your e-book to someone and their copy becomes free because of the commission they will make.

I just released a new site yesterday and just from my marketing alone I had 62 people join without any big pre lanuch, but everyone of my members is automatically an affiliate and can earn commissions right away if they promote.

If there is very litle info there, like there is now, it doesn't matter what you do, it will not work.

Squeeze pages do not work, anyway.

It takes time and money to do a successful pre-launch. Why waste those resources? All that time and effort down the drain because practically all will back out of your site due to very little info.

You may want to seriously consider doing a full sales page.

You can't expect people to respond to a page with so little info., especially if it looks like the same ol' page that is out there.

    No offense.

I will work a little bit on the wording. The spash page is just as a place holder until the product is released. I updated the wording a bit. Hope it is better now. (in my sig)
