Right now I am building some pages with squidoo, hubpages, blogger etc. to link to the internal pages of my site with the right keywords in the anchor texts. I link to 30-40 pages per web 2.0 property. I know there must be better ways to do this. Any suggestions?
Creating Your Anchored Backlinks You read it right, you will be creating many of your anchored backlinks. You don't need to pay for them, and you don't really need to worry too much about social bookmarking. In fact, I rarely bother with those sites. Amazingly enough, they are still some of the top referring sites to my articles. That is because other people do use them. If you are creating a lot of content, bookmarking everything on all of those sites is extremely time consuming. As you increase the number of anchored backlinks to your hubs, your search engine ranking increases. The search engines look at those links as votes for your hubs, blogs, articles, etc. Therefore, the more backlinks you have, the more votes you get credit for. One way to produce anchored backlinks is by doing exactly what I've been doing in this article. Providing links, with my SEO keywords, right in the text. I've also added those keywords into the cloud for this page. You'll want to add backlinks from your blog or website, and be sure to enter in those keywords into the metatags so that you are creating anchored backlinks. I also use Free Web Submission. (www.freewebsubmission.com) to submit my content to a number of search engines simultaneously. I know, the vote is out on whether this is effective. All I can say is when I fail to submit, I see it in page views and ranking.
Ehh actually I think I failed to express myself correctly. What I was trying to say, is that I have one main website which has over 190 pages. I started my link building campaign a couple months ago after I've finished creating my content. I got many backlinks to my main page. Great. But I only get traffic to this one page, which isn't very what was planning for. After reading stuff about SEO, I found where my mistake was: I only built backlinks to my homepage, neglecting linkbuilding for my deeper pages, which is pretty bad. So I started building web 2.0 pages like squidoo, Hubpages, Blogger blogs, etc. and I link to my MAIN website's deeper navigation from each of those websites to get anchored backlinks to my pages with the best keywords. (I link to around 30 of my main website's pages with each of those hubs). So my question is: Is this a good way to do it ? Is there a better way? I am not after PR, I want the most possible well anchored backlinks pointing to my deeper navigation's pages to raise my ranking in the SERP's for each of those pages. (I will repeat process for more of my deeper pages eventually).
I would build a link wheel to each of the inner pages I was promoting. I would then bookmark the spokes of the wheel. 5-6 spokes per wheel. link wheels are explained at lemonarian.com
Anyone else worry that this is going to get over-used and start not working, like all the other SEO strategies out there that died before them? I mean everyone's promoting how you can get these text links from these various authority web 2.0 properties... but at some point they're going to have to put a detection algo into this process to avoid the fake popularity folks are creating! It's bound to happen. Social viral media and getting the message out there is still probably a better route. Dan
Viral media does not work well in the refuse business. That is unless you show someone getting smashed in the back of a garbage truck and that could go viral. But then one might go to prison.
I do about 75% backlinks to my main page and then I split the remaining 25% amongst my internal pages Been working well for me for over 5 years now
My site is a cooking website. I have many many recipes, one per page. Problem is I don't rank well for most of those pages due to the fact that I don't have many (if not at all) correctly anchored backlinks poiting to those pages. What method do you suggest to get more and more of those backlinks pointing to my internal pages? Article marketing with a couple links in the body? Social bookmaring on dofollow sites? Link wheel seems very nice. But for how long will it work? I think I am searching for a safer method that will keep my pages indexed in the long run.
how u know ur sites on squidoo, Hubpages, Blogger blogs, etc are even indexed ?? Make blog on Blogger doesn't mean automatically ur blog will appear in Google index. Im not idol of making blogs etc on portals like Blogger and other, you never know when its gona be gona. I prefer spend 30 minutes longer and have my own blog on my own server with my own domain, at least i know its mine.
