Best way to get signups for my new rakeback(poker) site

I'm looking to get signups to my new rakeback site.

Besides seo, which is the way to go in the long term,
what would the best way to get new members for my site before seo efforts kick in?

I'm thinking banner ads on poker/gambling related sites, buying in on email lists for same niche...
I'm open for any suggestion or service you can provide...

I would write some high-quality poker blogs, get interviews with professional players (there are many professional online players posting in forums and I'm sure they would also do interviews), write some in-depth strategies, maybe implement a few video clips with awesome hands, etc.
Link your site on every big poker forum.
Point out exactly the benefits of your rakeback program.

 

I use facebook for my rakeback programs and it works pretty well. Try other social networks as well.

 

In which way do you use it? facebook ads, fanpage....?

 

Facebook groups (have over 10 groups averaging 2000 people each group), my own friends (have over 4000), fan pages, networked blogs for the corresponding niche - it's pretty much low cost, without a penny spent except my time...
