If you have a mild dandruff problem, common commercial dandruff shampoos will do. But if the dandruff problem is a bit serious, Nizoral or Sulfur Soap is better.
what about a monkey??? you can't stop the comedians of the group most people are fortunate enough to never had to deal with it hence their 'comedic' suggestions. I don't think the OP would take it personally yep, it has been "money" for me. i I go for more than a week w/out using it my scalp gets very angry Head and Shoulders is also good for removing lime and rust stains so go figure that it jacks with peoples already delicate hair condition....
i used nizoral before but it didn't seem to work for me. and mine's quite severe. not so severe that you leave a trail of dandruff in your wake, but noticeable when someone stands close to you.
I thought I had dandruff for a while, then I realised that there was a difference between shampoo and shower gel.. d'oh! So when I stopped washing my hair in shower gel, it was ok
Cut your head off, this is more difficult than it sounds so you might want to enlist the help of a friend. Alternatively as a shrewd poster pointed out earlier you can use a blow-torch. However a British medical study recently proved that this is 27% less effective, so I'll let you do the maths on this one. Have a nice evening Notting
oh buddy!! it probably says right on the bottle, do not use on head or at least it should now considering your experience!
I had noticeably bad dandruff.. tried a few things like Head & Shoulders but no such luck so I gave up. It's not too bad as long as I remember not to scratch my head, sit with my hand propping up my head and those other common avalanche triggers. I've learnt to adapt and survive instead - now with a few discreet flicks I can clear the back of my jacket from flakes with no one noticing a thing.
This method may not be conventional but it worked for my brother. Shave your head and soak white vinegar on it. Leave it on for about 30 minutes then rinse throughly with water.
A doctor should able to tell you whether you have Dandruff, Eczma or merely dry scalp. I am a licensed hairdresser, and know that there are differences in these three scalp conditions; which call for different treatments. The key thing is to have it properly diagnosed by a physician. Some treatments are: 1) Dry Scalp: Tea Tree Oil Shampoos Work Wonders 2) Dandruff: Medicated Shampoos - Over-the-Counter or Prescribed 3) Eczema: Medicated Shampoos / Ointments, as well as oral medication may be prescribed. I know that many professional hair care lines in the U.S. carry tea tree oil shampoos. Check at loca salon for products for dry scalp. If that doesn't work, you should really see a doctor for more options. P.S. Shaving your head would never work. Dandruff is a condition of the SCALP, not of the HAIR. You could shave your head, but if it's Dandruff or Eczema, you will still have the condition.
if you read the entire thread (and I don't blame you for not doing so) you'll see H&S gives mixed results. It can fry your scalp and make it worse or for some it does the trick 9/10. If it's serious issue you should consult a dermatologist but like I said Nizoral worked wonders in my case.

1. Try using Pristine shampoo. It's a treatment shampoo for dandruff and u can get it from the pharmacy. 2. Traditionally, you can use lime and rub it onto your scalp. 3. Use Indian shampoo + hair tonic + oil. Hope these help....
