I will vote for links in a do follow forums. Seems Google frequently index links in forums. So this is the beast way in getting a quality backlinks.

The most effective way that I found for getting backlinks to my site is using freetrafficsystem.com..What they do is allow you to post your content to other blogs and you get to put 2 backlinks in that article..You are allowed to send up to 30 so that's 60 backlinks just like that..The only downside is that your article has to be 450 words in length at all times.

Blog commenting is not good in long term as blog owner can delete your comment anytime. Article submission,directory submission and bookmarking are better than comment posting.

 

it`s really hard to find do follow forum that allow sig. as i see it only seo forums dont care you put sigs ther but in other forums i find it really really hard to put sigs especially when i dont find a fourm within my niche.

Video creation I think is the next new wave. Much like article marketing it allows you to both drive traffic as well as helps SEO

 

i find directory submissions and article submissions work the best. But, it can be costly sometimes.
