Best way to get affiliates?

    Hello guys,

I have a fantasy tennis game, basically the game is free but there's a premium options with quite a few extra features and access to some exclusive articles by some known tennis journalists... anyway, we do have quite a few premium members, but we're looking for more. We set up an affiliate program, for now we have to manually set up affiliates but then the stats, etc are real time and we pay by paypal at every month's end. So anyway, the question is, where would you target affiliates if you were me? The website is tennis-pool.com. Basically we give 10% of the fee (so 3$ per paying member). Doesn't matter if the person upgrades weeks or months later, it's tagged to the affiliate's id.

    Thanks for the recommendations.

    Hi pierre,

At 10% or $3.00, even though it is residual, I doubt you will get many serious affiliate marketers, and I think you will have marginal success...although, I must admit, I tend to stay away from affiliate programs that pay low, unless I can offer my members discounted services by being an affiliate (i.e. a rebate after purchase/part or all of my commission).

You need to squeeze out more then 10% for your affiliates. I wouldn't even seriously look at an affiliate program under 50% unless I could use the program to pick up more customers to my other programs....kind of like a snowball effect.

Go back to the drawing board. Do you want a "handful of new referrals" when you can have a "boatload"? Get that affiliate rate up and give tons of promotional tools, plenty of "guidance" and super support to your affiliates! ...and residuals, too!!!

If you can't, you are not ready for dedicated affiliates...there are just too many things that are higher ticket and higher commissions with affiliate programs that have all the "bells and whistles" to make big bucks. And, to be totally frank, no matter what they may say or justify publically, I don't know of a single affiliate marketer that isn't looking for the "big buck"s, or at least the "bigger bucks"...and that means more then 10% You initial plan could be your last if you really move forward to implement it.

    Reconsider!

You may have a great product, but this is a fact of affiliate marketing life....survival of the fitest!

    Jim
