Optimizing your website is the cheapest way. Use PPC to find popular and effective keywords. I always start with ppc then you know what your market is looking for, you can then match your message (in articles social etc) with the markets needs.
first of all need to do following research - Geographic market - demographic market - niche once you completed with the research, create strategies for promote your website explained by other dp friends.
Thanks for all of the replies. Right now I'm using these methods in the following order of time and money spent. 1. PPC (easy to drive traffic, but very expensive for each conversion) 2. Weekly email blast to existing customers ( most effective per conversion but my list is only 15,800). 3. Organic SEO (in the 4th month of a 6 month contract with seo firm but no results yet, they said to be patient). 4. Yahoo Product Submit (drives around 2,000 visits a month but hard to track the conversions) 5. Banner ad on the the dirty.com (lots of hits, but low conversions) 6. Social media (just created Squeedoo lens and Facebook page so no results yet) 7. Hi, I think you should focus and think your target market. Maybe you should spend some time to make friend with them in the online forums that they would go to. Or you can try article marketing and submit them to article directories. Use the keyword that you would like to target as the anchor text. All the best
social bookmarking is fantastic as you will find that they get listed within a day on google which can start to bring in great traffic. I would also suggest article marketing so that you can start to build more backlinks to your website.
