Hey, I am going to be selling a network of my sites soon, and I expect the price to be over $2,000. I am asking you what you have found to be the safest, most secure way of transferring websites? I don't want to use just PayPal, because my friend did that and got ripped on a chargeback. Does escrow work for this type of thing? I just need the SAFEST way to do it, with little trust factor involved. Thanks!
Definitely escrow. I have seen so many times someone get ripped off from someone they thought was completely trustable with this exact situation. It's just not worth the risk to not use escrow. http://www.escrow.com has domain and website escrow services.
The best way is to split the fees. This way everybody is happy. If the buyer doesn't want to pay than see than depends. According to escrow.com calculator for a $2000 transaction (in your case) you would pay $65 for standard and $126 for premier service. If you want my advice I would pay these money for a smooth transaction but of course I would first try to convince the buyer to chip in too.
What kind of problems ..are you nervous of? ..I am curious I am selling a network of sites as well.. And Thank you in advance.
