what tools do you guys use to estimate CPC for client, or to come up with approximate budget for the client. I used to use overture bidding tool and in order to estimate the CPC for google, i used to multiply that cost that i got from overture times 3. The tool is down now, should i use google estimator tool and what about yahoo? I can see the google estimator tool is not free anymore. Please give me some suggestions is how to do these estimates.

    Appreciate that!

Surely Google Adwords provides traffic estimates? I was looking at it the other day.

Yes, but don't you think it's too broad?

It provides traffic estimates based on keywords doesnt it? Correct me if I am wrong.

Plug in the keywords and the bids and it shows you the expected click throughs.

I am sure I have seen that.

You need to purchase a third party tool like Keyword Country for cost per click data. Google and other free tools provides traffic volume estimates and cost ranges but Keyword Country provides max and average cpc for Google and Yahoo Search.

I think cost wise, it's about $300 a year but I can't remember. It's the best program from all that I have tested for cpc and budgeting.

Using free tools is just too time intensive to pull the cost data especially if you have a decent size keyword list.

    Hope that helps.
