    Any site should work, if you manage to get targeted traffic, which leads to SEO for free traffic. Turnkey web sites usually are not really good for aiming search engine positions. Try creating unique, quality content, better.

    I recommend to write something about Forex (Foreign Exchange). And of course never ever attract your visitors to click on the ads. A simple forex ad click pays off about $1 and a search for forex (adsense for search) pays about $1.5. And yeah, I just got banned for that. :D Nevermind. There's not just adsense in the world :)

    I've found I make the most amount of money from HubPages, I didn't have to do any backlinking, or really anything except write a few articles and pick a few keywords. I got ranked pretty highly in Yahoo for a couple of things and it went from there.

    But totally agree with gedeonbacsi!

    The best way to get high CTR from adsense is SEARCH ENGINE TRAFFIC. If you monetize your site through adsense and you promote it through social bookmark and media sites, then most of your visitors won't click your ad. It is the same with your regular visitors, why should they repeatedly click your ad? Most of these people are already ad blinded. Even a good adsense placement won't help because regular visitors and tech savvy people already get used to see adsense ads...I think if you really want to make good money from adsense and other PPC advertisements, search engine traffic is what you need. Focus on your SEO, chase good keyword, then money will come. If you can make many good contents, then big advertisers will come.
