We're launching a new site in a couple of months and there will be a lot of customers who will be making regular payments. For example, $20 one week. $40 three weeks later. $30 a month after that. It seems like the merchant account providers and companies like Paypal do a good job of handling one-off payments or recurring payments (e.g., $20 a month billed on the 1st of each month) but don't really have good facilities for handling regular payments. Ideally we'd like credit card information stored but at the same time we're not sure we're comfortable with storing that information on our servers. So the question is whether there are services out there that cater to regular payments and allow us to retain the customer's credit card info without actually holding that on our servers.
