Best way to do marketing.

    Which is best way to do marketing? by newspaper, online directories, email marketing, text link advertise, or any other?

    marketing by newspaper is a crap shoot, but most people I've talked to have gotten no response from adverts in newspapers.

    email marketing may have a good result if it is NOT spam.
    press releases may also have good results
    or the promotion of a website offering something for free or offering something unique or less met

    Whatever is free or very very cheap, most time efficient, and reaches the biggest audience (balancing these 3) is what I go after.

    Id lean towards e-mail, if it is more personal and to a group of people that qualify to be interested in your niche they will most definately read what you have to say (if their spam filter doesnt nab it). If your site is good enough they will register and become long term members.

    As many ways as possible. It always pays to make you marketing as diverse as possible. If any particular revenue stream dries up then you always have something to fall back on.

    It depends upon your target market and your audience, if particular newspaper is having good circulation and good reader base it may bring some positive result especially if you go for CPM basis. However the major drawback of newspaper ad is- it has no shelf life, obviously ppl are not interested to read yesterday newspaper. However you can also add viral marketing in your marketing strategy, it is more powerful if it implemented correctly.

    There's only one "best" way to do marketing:

    Create a custom marketing plan for your business (in many cases, that's your site). You need to do market research on your target market demographics, analyze the need for you site, products or services, compare your quality, background and pricing to competitors, figure out your marketing budget, decide on your specific goals and come up with tactic ideas to reach those goals, plus ways you plan to evaluate their effectiveness.

    All you really listed were a few general tactics. It's impossible for someone to say one is better than the other. It depends entirely on what you're trying to do, who your audience is, how much you can afford to spend, etc. Some people can market effectively without spending a dime, while for other niches paid advertisements are the best bet Don't think about tactics until you've done the planning. Otherwise, you'll waste time and money on ineffective marketing, which you could have avoided with just a bit of research. :)

    You can market effectively once you have strengthen your online presence, most of the people intend to jump start, there is no magic formula to get success overnight. You should have defined niche and selective audience prior to market your product or service. Every niche has another niche and most of the niche have some unfulfilled wants and need, you should have capability to identify those wants and need and come up with a solution to impact that specific target market.
