Best way to determine value

    What's the best way to determine the value of a link on a directory page? There are a lot of things to consider, but how would you prioritize? Is a link on a page that gets 2 uniques a day but has a PR6 more valuable than one that gets 1200 uniques but has a PR3? :confused:

    Regarding your third question; It depends on what you are looking for. are you looking for visitors or pagerank. your decision to make.

    As an0n said--it depends on your requirements/priority. But I don't tihnk --if a page has PR3 --it would receive 1200 visitors/day. Because it will be 2/3rd page of a highly visited directory and by nature visitors don't surf beyond main pages.
    And if it is main page of a directory--then that directory won't be that highly visited.

    All depends on your priority--what you want --PR or traffic.:cool:

    Done :)

    I want an authority. :D
    PR does look nice as well, but it's one of those 'to each his own' type of things.

    That's all well and good, but I have a directory with main page PR3 that gets about 1200 uniques a day. Now this level of traffic just jumped three fold a couple of weeks ago which leads me to believe the real PR is higher than three, especially considering that a large percentage of this new traffic is coming from google. The PR went from 5 to 3 at the last update, it had been 5 for as long as I can remember before then.

    Many think PR is the most important factor when purchasing a link. But the new tendency is that people now try to see the directory's future.

    This naturally draws two factors;

    The owner's reputation and how it's promoted.

    So, even a PR0 new directory can attract people just because they know who runs it or how he promotes it.

    This is, in my case as well, becoming the number 1 factor of all why they buy a link. Ultimately though, they certainly expect high PR because they know their investment will return to them.
