Though to be honest, I prefer to create articles often, nothing dazzling, more like blog posts (there is a good one too, posting on blogs) with good anchor text, and submitting.

I think that one of the things that has really helped is scouring for directories and submitting to them. I probably have spent long hours simply manually submitting to directories and they have been working out.

As far as backlinks, the forum profiles have only been helping a little bit. Bookmarking and Articles have been doing the best for me. As well as taking the links I create and create an RSS from them to submit to different directories.

I think that looking for the higher PR to comment on has been a major thing as well.

I bought scrapebox and have been slowly commenting with it. Major blasting probably helps immediately, but fear of sandboxing every twelve seconds has kept me doing slow commenting and the big factor was adding that black box plugin to the site. It gets more comments through that are moderated. Of course theres always those that have been just mass deleting comments they have to moderate. And spending time looking for the auto approves is more than I had originally thought.

All in all, I think relevance, normal directories, bookmarking, and the articles have been doing it for me.

These are all ways to get backlinks. If you want them to be good backlinks, make sure that the forums and blogs you are participating in belong to the same niche as your site. The articles you submit need to be related to your niche and are original as much as possible.

When you link to your site, just make sure you use different anchor text! Pick at least 2-4 different keywords to use.

I prefer article submission, but they all work. It just depends on the sites you get your backlinks on, the more relevant the content, the better backlink it will be. You want to get users, that will convert into members from your backlinks.

 

1. Directory submission - you can get a lot of links with targeted anchor text, but this links are low quality (but still important!)
2. Article submission - if it is possible place your link somewhere at the beginning of the article, not at the end. (it is more valuable)
3. Analyze your competitors backlinks - use Yahoo site explorer for this
4. Guess posts - create guess posts in your niche
5. BE CREATIVE

I have considered all the mentioned techniques as my link building strategy.I have used forum posting,blog commenting and blogging as my daily SEO activity.
