Best way to compare servers speed?

    depends what you mean by "exact" speed.
    Obviously you'll get different results when testing the same server from different locations as there are a different number of hops it makes before getting to the server. Also time of day could make a large difference. If these test servers are in different countries, it won't really help your results if you're only looking for traffic from where you're hosting from.
    I would use a selection of website speed tests at different times of the day, for both servers, and see what you get.

    Personally, when I was comparing, I had a third server to run my tests from. I made a several different sized files (1Mb, 10Mb, and 100Mb) and hosted them temporally, then on the third server ran a script to time uploads and downloads of these files periodically throughout the day. This worked better for me.
