Whats the best way to clear up a lot of disk space? Every time I turn around I have to clean up disk space. I got an older Dell Laptop Inspiron 1200. Its got a 25gb harddrive but I am lucky to have a few mbs on the dang thing. Anything I can do to help?

Obviously, you should uninstall any unused programs as well. That's the first thing I do when I get a new computer is clean out all the programs I'll never use.

Use spacemonger to check what's hogging your harddrive and deletes it

You might want to consider turning on disk compression (Right click on drive in My Computer, then check compress drive to save space. It decreases performance quite a bit but can give you a lot of extra storage. Or just buy a new HD that is 4 times as big for $50.

If you're running XP or Vista, you can create a slimmed down install using nLite or vLite.

I very often just rebuild the PC. I have found that due to consistent slow down of PC over time i make an image of the PC when i first rebuild. And then any time i wish i can reload the fresh image making computer run snappy again. It's very easy nowadays to make a backup of documents etc... So you don't have to lose anything.
