    do social bookmarking in sites in which links are not nofollow & would help in building backlinks, similarly post in forums which do not block outgoing links, do some article submission also in reputed sites.

    Write articles on subjects related to your site and post them to popular article sourcing sites. Make sure to put backlinks to your site on article.

    if you have budget, try to source for link building service, you can find many in DP.....They normally provide more choices in link building and you can expect to save a lot of time.

    However, article directory and forum signature is one of my favorite link building source.

    The simplest and easy way is to comment on blogs. This can be fast and you will get traffic also - try blogs that update frequently rather than posting in junk blogs.

    Don't just post on any blogs...post on those relevant to your keywords and topic. (e.g. if you're marketing a pet site, don't comment on ForEx blogs)

    in creating backlinks, you not just simply creating article submission, blog posting, social bookmarking,etc but you should choose hyperlinks/links that are in higher rank.
