I've just recently launched my energy news website and am looking for ways to increase traffic - and keep the visitors coming back. Through my experiments with Digg and Reddit, I've received a lot more visitors from reddit as opposed to Digg. I'd say that it may be by as large a margin as 20-1. What other ways can I optimize my website? I know that multiple avenues have to be traversed at the same time, I just want to know which are the most productive for my area of need.
Buy a digital camcorder and create a bunch of videos and post them on YouTube. Make sure to add your web address in the video. I've seen websites with a Alexa rankings of about 50,000 that rely solely on video advertising.
Neat idea which I've read about here and there. But I'm not sure what videos I would create exactly, I'm kind of clueless in that area.
Film yourself or hire somebody to act like a news reporter and talk about something that happened lately. Some of the most viewed videos on Youtube are of somebody just filming themselves. If the information you offer is useful then you might get some regular viewers.
M suggesting to create quality back links from any source like forum , directory and blogs etc. THis gives reference traffic too
Nice site BTW. Did you design it yourself? I think you could use a few SEO improvements and maybe a little more keyword research.
Thanx! Got a nice template and edited it a lot with the help of a friend. What SEO impovements do you suggest? And which keywords do you suggest?
Socially I would use Stumble, Twitter and Reddit over Digg. SEO wise I would use social bookmarking and targeted directories to start. You will get good traffic from Del.icio.us and Mister Wong if you get on their front page. Much better audiences on both.
Go to KeywordDiscovery.com and do your research. If possible, optimize each page of your website with a different page title, keywords, and meta description. Only go for about 5 keywords per page.
