Best way to advertise my Facebook Fan Page?

I just made a Fan Page on facebook for myself (for fun). I want a quick and easy way to spread the word of it, without investing any money or too much time/effort. I've already invited all my friends, and have created an event which, I believe, should be pretty popular. Once the event gets really popular, I plan to message all members asking them to join. I used the same technique with a group as well.

Just wondering if any of you DP'ers had any other ideas that I could use to promote this page. It's just for fun, and I don't really NEED to advertise it, but if there is a quick and easy way to do so, I'm all ears.

 

How about you try to spread the word with Viral Marketing.

 

Honestly, I'm not entirely sure what Viral Marketing is. I mean, I'm able to recognize examples of it, but I wouldn't know how to go about doing it. It seems like a very vague term. From what I understand, it is just advertising that essentially spreads on its own?

 

Example, create a small video and add it to YouTube to advertise your event.

 

I'll tell you one thing not to do is to bombard your members with messages. I have left groups because I was being sent messages all the time and they had no point.

It will show you how to quickly increase the number of friends you have on your accounts. This is key to promoting stuff on Facebook manually, unless you want to spend money on advertising... You need reach to get the ball rolling... A thousand or so people need to join your group within a few days and it will attract other members and the group will start to grow on it's own To keep it active keep making posts across all of your accounts. You should have thousands of friends to expect anything, the more the merrier

Well why dont you try some viral marketing techniques like posting an attractive image with a catchy title and a short content. Then share the post with atleast 20 friends in one day, then next day tag more 20 friends. This way your post will be displayed on their profile pages as well as their homepages, by which you will get more and more eyeballs for your fan page. These eyeballs will eventually convert into likes and visit your site too

I thinks facebook fan page is easiest and costless way to advertise you product.
