I have a car blog that is doing pretty well but I want to advertise it a little more. Anyone know of a good method or place to advertise? I dont really want to do link exchanges or link sales. I am willing to spend some good money for some good advertising.

Depending on your budget there are a lot of high traffic sites like autotrader that will get you a ton of traffic.

Two ways : Forums - all of them , talk to the admins 1st and strike a deal whit them . 2nd If you have a big budget then you could advertise on big automotive sites but you'll be in competition whit the budget of automakers and you know what that means . One way to sneak around big budgets is AdWords . Target that a website and go crazy whit the budget . The rest off the methods are pure bull for a beginner like you . Trust me . I've been tuning and racing cars before Google was born .

If you call automotive niche insurance the forget about my methods .
What niche are you in ?

Thanks for all the comments. No it is not insurance. Its an automotive article and news site with 100k visitors a month.

So far it seems like posting on forums and advertising on automotive sites seems to be the best method.

Can you target one specific site with adwords?

AFAIK you can . The website has to be set-up so you can . Usually it's cheaper to negotiate directly whit the owners but that takes a bit of skills .

People seem to forget about video. You can use PowerPoint and make a simple slide show, add some music, and then hit the major video sites.

If you target some longer tail keywords, and make sure that they are in your tags and video, this is a whole other avenue available for you as well.... Remember, Google loves video, and often indexes videos in minutes instead of days or weeks....

Buy some ads space from popular used and new car website or classified. 100k a month is very good.. maybe you should look more into referral program or some sort

Buying targeted traffic or building a cheap targeted campaign would be your best choice.

There are plenty of automobile related articles directories, and blogs you can submit comments and useful articles to, with a link to your car blog

I have managed few car related blogs and it is all about great content if you want to grow your traffic. Of course you can spend money on ads, but this does not bring people back if you don't have a good content.

I am an internet sales director for an automotive aftermarket manufacturer in the Northeast. I sell direct to consumer and to dealers and had the same issue regarding the best way to advertise in the automotive niche. Through a referral from a friend, we recently hired an advertising technology company Jaroop to handle some behavioral targeting campaign work for us and we were very pleased with the results (96% increase in our related traffic, and 246% in our CTR!). After about 6 months, we are getting ready to turn over the keys to them on a larger part of our web advertising. Let me know if you are interested in more info or would like me to send you my contact's name over there. They are good guys. Hope this helps :D

We started advertising on auto forums, you can find our carbon fiber hoods website carbonfiberhoods.com on various auto forums.

As far as page rank is concerned it didn't really help, I'm still a PR0 :(

But it did help for traffic as long as you can post relevant topics or interesting press releases.

If you have a stable site and are already getting 100k traffic, I suggest you try out an adwords campaign.
