well...since many of my friends have blogs i made a blog also lol and i have only few ideas of how could i advertise it freely(directory submissions and stuff) so if any of you bloggers have any good suggestions, they are all welcome
Check out this post on Site Optimisation - Spreading the Word. Should give you a few useful free pointers.
Write fantastic and interesting articles, write how to, and top 10 lists, things that will make people want to link to you. Go around and make relevant comments on the popular blogs in your niche.
i suggest you to read http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=224828 . it's a good article to build backlink for your site. i think there is nothink difference between blogs and the other sites. you must use the same advertiment methods like the other sites
Suggestions: 1. Add more relevant content 2. Add more pages 3. Get backlinks via free direcories, article submission, forum participation and submit to DMOZ 4. Get appropriate descriptions and titles for your pages
Do some sitewide link exchanges, link to other bloggers and maybe they will link you back(you link to 100 blogs and you will get 10 link - better than nothing...).
Here's what I think help: 1. Commenting on other blogs in your niche. It gets other blog owners to notice you and maybe even link out to you. 2. Participate in communities, such as MyBlogLog. 3. Update content regularly. You might want to advertise your blog, but make sure that your content is frequent enough for 2 reasons -- it increases linking opportunities, and it will prompt search engines to spider you more often. 4. Link out to people you respect. Again, it's a way of getting you noticed, and yes, it is a two-way street. Read resources on blogging -- there are many blogging blogs out there as well as books and resources. Check out Aviva Directory's 21 steps for a successful blog launch. (I can't link to it yet ) There are many ways to do it, but my two biggest recommendations are: blog often and comment often.
I suggest getting a bunch of content on there, stuff that people search for and then do stuff to get it indexed in google of course what I'm saying is probably completely obvious and useless to you
