Best way or method to get more signups on Social Network

I would like to ask DP members, what is the best way to get more members registering on your social network?

 

ya..lol..need to maintain ur site unique..even if its cant be unique..it should be something special..thats all i think..

 

In this case, have great features so that someone can communicate better with friends and family.

Then, the friends and family would tell more friends or family members about the new social networking site and then your site would be populated,

To get more traffic is one thing, to get right traffic is quite another.

So how do we get the right traffic and more importantly sign ups?

it's a case of 'you can take the horse to the water, but you can't make the horse drink it'.

How do we turn the traffic into sign ups, do we offer incentives or does the product on offer need to be more appealing or disireable?

My traffic on my site is increasing day by day and people are creating profiles for companies but not registering as members or creating personal profiles, i think it is just being used as another place to add your business details and link and not a social tool.
