I need some advice from some of you experienced SEO folks out there. I recently purchased an expired domain with age, high page rank and decent backlinks, but no existing content. I have a related site with lots of content, but very low page rank and backlinks. I was thinking about exporting all of the posts from the low page rank site and populating the new domain with that content, then shutting down or redirecting the low page rank site so that the content only exists on the new domain. Would Google view this as duplicate content, even though the content would now only exist at the new domain? Is this a good strategy or would it be better (in Google's eyes) to start creating content from scratch for the new domain? Any advice is appreciated.
I think it would be best to fill it up with original content, not necessarily necessary though You definitely need content ASAP, my partner managed to retain about 6 PR4 + sites by adding a blog (auto blog) which just took posts from different sources and that seemed to work well enough. You need to start getting the content ASAP though is my only advice, see what the other SEO experts on here say. (I'm no SEO expert btw).
