The fast way and the effective way are opposites The fast way, oddly enough, is a waste of time. The most effective way is to make your stuff worth linking to. That way you improve your site AND get links at the same time. Kill two birds with one stone!
Do one way submission, i e directory submission, article submission, blog posting, social book marking and so on........
One way submission via directory or article. Blog posting but be careful not to look like spam and social book marking sites such as Mister Wong and Stumble Upon.
I'd agreed with that. I started out by paying for directory submissions. I didn't see an increase until I started writing proper content and submitting it via social networking/bookmarking sites. From there my more popular content has started linking itself as visitors bookmark it and post the links in forums etc. Which is pretty good as I don't work on the site too much so when I do I try to make sure the content is good.
