I also moved to managed vps from futurehosting and I´m very satisfied.

My advice - go VPS asap, shared hosting can be sooo dangerous... It happens to me the same thing that to tlbuckingham - my account on shared hosting was suddenly closed withour warning, so I have to move all my sites, which were down for a couple of days...

I'm using SliceHost (www.slicehost.com) for 10 months and the only downtime I experienced was because of my misconfiguration :)

They have unmanaged XEN VPSs with reasonable prices, plus; pretty good hardware and friendly community.

Well I suggest to use VPS from www.BestHostInc.com, I have been using their VPS from past three months, rates for managed VPS is around $50-60 with lots of space, memory and bandwidth

And ya, good thing is they have least restrictions as I have experienced, if I say at all

    Good luck!

I have tried XEN enable VPS's and I have found countless annoyances, though it may be my own inexperience playing with this console.

The thing that liked was the LXadmin control panel, very similar to Plesk.

Even though I prefer Webmin on VPS, like those offers detailed at www.go.such.info, which can be upgraded to cPanel/WHM as an option ;)

Really excellent average for a VPS hosting service Agent Smith, the one I'm suggesting is just one point above with 99.98%

I believe these two are the most reliable I have ever seen.

I have searched a lot before buying a VPS and decided to buy a XEN powered one because this is the only software that uses hardware limits of the server as the real limits, which means; your hosting provider can't oversell the machine you're on. For example, if the server has 2048 MB ram installed, and your provider want to divide it into 256 MB capacity VPSs, they can only create 8 VPSs, not more. Since there are a lot of hosting providers offering "burstable" accounts on overselled servers, this is a nice thing to have.

Also, as I told before, I have only used SliceHost and I'm still impressed with their performance after 10 months.

That's the reason we choose Xen for our customers too :) You have guaranteed system resources with much the same with a real dedicated server
