Personally I would have to say iwhic, I bought a VPS with them and have only experienced 2 problems which were caused by my part and they were quick to help me fix them.

Frankly speaking companies which are good rite now dont stay good in long run as servers are over populated

In my humble opinion I say iWhic. Currently I have one VPS with him support is GOOD and I am happy with the up time. And he is giving me lots of discounts. And I think his servers is not that over populated.

    wiredtree and knownhost.
Two reliable awesome providers, and I'm saying this from my own personal experience and the many recommendations on webhostingtalk.com

Linode.com has excellent VPSes. I use them for some small websites and test software configurations out. I've never had any problems with them. They provide you with a lot of very cool advanced network features like IP fail over, out of band logins, etc. Support is very fast as well. I highly recommend them.

Knownhost and Linode both have good reps.

    wowvps.com looks good as well.

Thanks for all the input! While I'm still not sure whether I want shared, VPS, or dedicated, I'm pretty sure I'll be going for WiredTree if it comes to VPS!

Anyone know why I would choose VPS over shared? :)

I have been with several VPS providers and so far the best one that I have came across (and currently use) is KnownHost.

VPS Gives you full use of resources and you don't ever have to work about some other guy bringing your site down.

It also gives you root access so you don't have to beg the support team to install special packets for you if you ever want to use them :D

Sorry but you are asking wrong question. There are different Os virtualization solutions which define very different VPS hosting services. I'm afraid that you can only compare web hosts that offer the same VPS solution. My personal opinion is that Virtuozzo is the most advanced server virtualization solution.

Exactly. It also allows you to oversell the most.

I used to have a VPS with 1and1, but it's over priced, and offered less space and bandwidth :< So i gave it up

I like Knownhost, VPSLink (customer of both) and friends have had good experiences with WiredTree. Have tried WOWVPS, they are not very professional and had downtime within the first 24 hours with no explaination. If you need unmetered, highly recommend Rackforce, have had excellent uptime with them.

i hear ya. it makes sense that i would want more control over my website - don't want some spammer to bring down my business! and it seems like WiredTree is the way to go. I see nothing but good comments about them...hope it stays that way :p
