Also you can try nod32 and bitdefender (which is really good).

about kaspersky - this one rocks, but this program eats so much resources of your computer.

    I hate kaspersky start-up check.

There are many Bugs with NOD32 at my end. Especially Update error, I was using trial of NOD32 v3, I updated this one day, lets say 10 October, then it starts daily updates. But likely within 7 days, it updates stop working, I try manually update & it says every time that I have latest Definition. I used this for 20 days, but it didn't update after 17th October. can you believe that ? but its reality, maybe you didn't face this problem, but I faced this many times.

Moreover, this are also bugs with interface, like, If you press cancel/pause button while scanning system, sometimes it don't pause/stop, even no effect by clicking many times.

You can check previous version of Trend Micro or Kaspersky, those don't use too much system resources

    Regards

nod 32 all the way, you barely even notice it but it does such a good job, I mean it doesn't have millions of pop ups that come while your surfing. Nod 32 updates like once a day but it doesn't really show it much, but it does.

Nod 32 is excellent and it should be able to remove everything but if you have a bank in your computer then I recommend Linux :D

I still recommend Norton. Look on the symantec site for the removal tool for the virus if norton can't do it.
But if you insist on switching Nod-32 is the best and lightest on resources.

Hands down Nod32, as far as performance and resource utilization nothing compares to it. I have Vista 64-bit and "knock on wood" have not had any issues with it contrary to some of the statements above. The thing I like the most about it is the fact that it is low profile and unlike the bloated Norton or McAfee series of AV software does not take your system hostage.
