Hi all, I need to know which is the best video camera for doing videos for places like UTube, for sites, etc. I'm on a tight budget, & do I need a tripod or something? Thanks Michelle
I would say a tripod is a must for a professional look. Next time you view videos on youtube, view 10 or so videos and then judge them. Not the content but how they introduce and show the video. The videos that are wandering all over you'll notice right.. not professional is it. Next is lighting. Lighting can make or break a video. Natural lighting is best. Just a good computer cam can work great too. I just noticed your name.. For shots you'll be taking you'll need something mid priced+, especially if your selling your videos. Oh and don't post those vids on youtube k, kids go on there all the time. Ebay is cool at finding deals on camcorders. I can't recommend a cam because you didn't give enough info on what it would be used for, where it would be used etc. Good luck.
How much is a tight budget? I would go for an AVCHD cam. I think its a great bang4buck and the quality... Check this article. http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,126518-page,1-c,digitalcamcorders/article.html
I'm not even going to comment on what IM5202 said, I would lose my temper & choose not to. Ignorance always pisses me off. Thanks James, I'll check that out. Sounds like I need to post this question on another board to get anyone to give me suggestions. I don't even know what my budget is b/c I don't even know the average price, but I'll read that article. Thanks once again Michelle
you can go to... bhphotovideo.com and search "video camera" you can find there diff brands and model that would suit your need and budget.
Hey exoticpublishing! I'm not sure how tight of a budget you are on but I know of quite a few YouTubers who use the "Flip" video recorder. It ranges anywhere from 150-250 dollars, small enough to fit into your pocket, light-weight, records in HD onto internal memory, can be transfered to your computer through USB, and has the ability to instantly upload to YouTube from the camera itself. If you can come up with the money for it - It is a steal! As I am a newcomer here with not too many posts under my belt, Digital Point doesn't want me posting links just yet but if you're interested you can google search "flip video" and it should be easy to find from there! As far as a tripod - It is always wise to have one around but not always necessary in some cases. As you are on a tight budget and your recording conditions don't seem intense by any means, I am sure a cheap-o eBay tripod (or something similar) will do just fine for you! If you google "DIY tripod" or "Cheap tripod" you can also get ideas on alternative do-it-yourself/homemade tripods that you may be able to make out of things you already have at home. Hope this helped!
@ FireFightDesigns - Glad I could help! @ exoticpublishing - I just realized this thread was made in 2007. Now I feel stupid for responding to it recently =P Haha!
