I wouldn't be surprised if I'm one of the last people in existence with this problem, but I have some old floppies I need to extract information from and so far while looking on Google all of the ones I have found either have a good number of bad reviews or say that they don't work with Windows 7. So I was wondering does anyone own a floppy reader that they can say for a fact will work with Windows 7 64 bit?
Still many people are using widows xp so you can use their computers to extract information from your old floppy disk.
I'm in the market for one of these too. I have lots of old Atari STe and Roland sampler disks that I'd like to image and archive to DVD. DX have one that gets pretty good reviews, apparently works with Windows 7 64: http://www.dealextreme.com/p/portable-usb-3-5-1-44mb-floppy-diskette-drive-external-usb-fdd-23557
They're pretty much commodities these days. We've bought name-brand drives and cheap no-name drives and about the only difference is the label. They all work and they all last. (There aren't many drive manufacturers. Everyone uses standard chips. The only differences are the cases.)
