Why can't you change it now? I thought you were always able to change the URL structure

aaa? No. I'm just saying you won't get up having two posts with the same title (and thus the same link) on your blog :)

I can change the URL structure of course, but all the links poiting towards my site will become useless, as the destinations won't be there anymore.. :)

you can change your URL structure and keep all your inbound links etc. Simply setup a 301 redirect in your .htaccess file. That's what I did, workes perfectly!

    Example:

I Had a previous link structure of: http://www.noddegamra.co.uk/xbox360-nat_settings.htm

301 redirect now automatically points it to: http://www.noddegamra.co.uk/problems-with-xbox-360-live-nat-settings/3/

All without losing any PR etc. It simply tells the search engine your page is at a new location. Simple :)

Technorati is great for getting stats about a blog. Who likes it, who is linking to you, etc.

Digg and Del.icio.us are different. They are used more for finding great things (hopefully your site). Out of these 2 I prefer digg. It brings me more traffic and I prefer the interface. It's just a nicer experience to use than del.icio.us

Does that answer your question, or were you wondering about a different aspect of those sites? :)

I use postname as it provides the easiest to remember direct URL %postname%. If you have 2 posts with the same it just renames the post slug to %postname%2 so that's no big deal.

In reality you are unlikely to have duplicate post titles anyway.

I use mysite.com/category/page-name.htm - that way it benefits from the URL, category word and page name all in one.
